American Board of Emergency Medicine Initial Certification
American Board of Emergency Medicine initial certification combines the Qualifying Examination (QE), an approximately 305-question single-best-answer examination based on the EM Model, with the in-person Certifying Exam (CE). The 2026 CE is a new 10-case, half-day assessment at the AIME Center in Raleigh, using Clinical Care Cases and Communication & Procedure Cases. This guide covers initial certification only.
